important dates

 Mr. Dev Amin is a 3rd Degree Black Belt candidate who will be testing in March. As part of his test, he is required to create and run a community service event.  Dev's community service project is a Career Night. This is when our Fastkix parents come into the school and explain their careers to our students, so they can learn about what kind of job opportunities there are for them to explore. 

Our school has so many different professions represented among our family including electricians, attorneys, physicians, IT professionals and more and I'd like to tap into that talent so that our students can learn about different careers and what's involved.  This project is important to me because I know I want to be an engineer, but I don't know know exactly what kind of engineer I'd like to be.  I believe that if I was exposed to careers earlier, I could have already determined what type of engineer I would want to be and mastered the skills need for that type of engineering. 

I am hoping that we can get a wide variety of parents to volunteer their time to talk to our students in small groups to help educate them about what they do.  We also want to provide a chance for all of our students, even our youngest ones, to explore what they may want to choose as a career.

Our Career Night is scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at our Spotswood location.
